Happy Thanksgiving...

Hi All,

I know that that this week is Turkey day for you guys in the States so I am wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving... ours here in Canada was last month. Phil and I will be enjoying a rare vacation afternoon off together. Maybe we will get some football in...

Good Morning all,I hope everyone is doing well this fine morning. I have been rather busy for the last few weeks. Work has me going crazy and I am now training for a new post! Oh boy, I hope it does not change my hours to much. All will be known by the end of this week with the mini shift bid we will have to do. Ahh well what can we do I am just hoping that I will still be able to have my belated honeymoon in a couple of weeks as they promised me that it would still be honoured. That is good as I had to start this new job I was in till last week 2 days after getting married 2 years ago. Day at the Circus Card

The paper I used is just a paper I had hanging around and not real sure where I got it.

Well it is official I have started my new Christmas cards. Yup I am getting a jump start, normally I don't start till way closer to Christmas but I am trying something new this year... preparation, neat concept for me.

Today I am being showcased on CSM what an honor I sent Colleen the picture of the 3 tier wedding caked I for my parents 59th wedding anniversary. I filled it up with candy for them and they loved it.

Tulip and Mushroom card

Good Morning Everyone.

I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend. Mine is Sunday and Mondays so I am still enjoying it and I have a bonus because a very close friend of mine is here from Washington State and is staying with me for the weekend. I may even get visitation rights again for a least one or so more weekends before she goes home in mid Sept.

Anyways I am getting side tracked. The cards I made for Copic Marker Scrapbooking today are Tulip card and Mushroom Card.

So lets start with the details for the Tulip card and here they are:
Paper I used is: Animal Crackers - Ella DieCut flowers
Butterflies: Color Me Butterflies - these were coloured with LuminArts in the following colours: Razzleberry, Stargazer, Pink Grapefruit, and Jasmine...(Now these butterflies you will see on a piece that I will be adding as soon as I get all the info together on what I used and such).

The second card I made is the Mushroom Card and here are the details on that one.

Jack and the Bean Stock set.

Good Morning All,

Let me start off by saying I am sorry I have not posted in so long but my basement had a flood in it a few weeks ago and I am still trying to get things back to the way they were. Phil has now put a sub floor in and I am hoping that is the end to the moving my craft room back and forth for awhile. This is the cause of me not having the list of colours I used on these cards. Also I am getting ready for surgery that I will be having on June 6th and between the pain and the doctors appointments I have had and of course work I have had little time to play around. But no more with the excuses I will be trying to post on a More regular bases from now on.

Now on to the new cards! These cards are from Copic Marker Scrapbooking set Jack and the Bean Stock. This set is available to get and if you follow this link to Colleen's website it will give you all the details. If you read the who blog you will see you have a chance to win some great prizes!! We Love Guy Gondron!! (Fundraiser)

If you’re a member of the CMS community, there’s no need to explain who Guy is. If you casually collect our freebies, allow me to explain.

Guy is our very talented resident artist. You can check out his work at protoguy.org, or his blog at Work in Progress. He has drawn most of our amazing digital stamps. (I’m to blame for the less than awesome ones.) Guy has been my best friend for the past ten years. He is without a doubt the nicest, most talented person I know. God broke the mold with him.

Guy is having a rough time now. He was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. You can read about it in greater depth on his blog if you like, he’s keeping a fantastic journal there. I cannot begin to explain how this has affected the CMS community. For most of us, Guy is our “Art Hero”. We love him to pieces and it breaks our hearts to know he has to fight this. We’re determined he will not be fighting alone.

So, we are having a fundraiser. We are selling a zip file with every single digital stamp Guy has ever drawn for CMS in it. That’s like a bazillion images. The zip file is affordably priced at $10. Every last penny paid for the zip file will go directly to Guy, so that he can manage his medical bills and living expenses through treatment. Please help us out.

Good Morning All,

Before I head off to to work today I am posting my two cards I made for Copic Marker Scrapbook , you should head over there and check out their stuff!

My first card is Bunny with Flowers, this little digi guy is too cute! I can also say that I have started my Easter cards! Yeah me, this is a first normally I am rushing a day before to finish everything, hmmm this maybe a new trend for me... Probably not.
I used a Easter word paper that i got from Michaels for the background it seemed to fit with this little guy. The Copics I used are:
Bunny: R00, R20, E00, E11,E13, E35, E50.
Flowers: Y00,Y38, YR23,YG03, G24
Bows: BV00, BV08, BV11, BV17, BV31
and Background: W0, W1, W3

The Flower in a vase card I can not take full credit for my DH gave me a suggestion and I ran with it he told me to put the lines in on the flowers and the brown dots. I think it turned out very cool. The background paper was from a Christmas stack I received from my mother, it has a hint of glitter in it. The button and the ribbon was from the stash I have laying around in this mess I call my workroom. The copics I used for this piece are:

This morning I am posting my sisters birthday card. I found this adorable digi stamp at Beccy's Place it was a free download. There are a ton of images that are just to cute for words, You should go check it out.
The patterned paper I used is Birthday lingo by Sandylion that I got from Michaels. The metal flowers came from the Dollar store. I coloured the image with Copics. The colours I use are:
Bear: E00, E13, E15, E21, E35, E50, R20, R00
Cupcake: Y00, Y08, Y38, R00, R20, RV02, BV00, BV02, BV13 and BV31
I shaded around it with W00, W03 and N0

Hi All,
Sorry it has been awhile since I have posted but I have been fighting a kidney stone... lately the kidney stone has been beating me and I was in the hospital Wed and Thurs morning only to find out that I have a stone in both kidneys... oh joy or bliss. Anyways that is neither here nor there I wanted to share the good new with you all I am now a design team member for Copic Marker Scrapbooking. The card I have done here was from the Fantasy Digital Stamp Set. I hope you like it. I love the this dragon it reminds me of Lord of the Rings.

Challenge #67 - Scoopy Scallops!!!

Hi All,
I hope everyone has had a great week... I am back again to post my latest Kraftin' Kimmie challenge, This week is Scoopy Scallops, here is the guidelines that we have to work with...Her theme for you is Scoopy Scallops! So just make sure you're using scallops somewhere on your card....with your Nesties or a border punch.....super fun scoopy scallops!! Seeing as I didn't have either I decided to use a scallop type of ribbon.

The stamp I used is Crissy's Cuties "Tree Fairy". The card is made of recycled paper and the background paper: Rose colour shimmer paper from a pack I got at the Dollar Store and the patterned paper is from K&Company Floral and letter plain paper. The pearls are from the Dollar Store as well they are Crafts Self Adhesive pearls The Copics I used are:
Wings: W0, W1, W5.
Dress: R00, RV10, RV19,RV34, YG03, YG11, YG67
Face, hand, legs: E00, E50, R20

Challenge #66 - A Super Sketch from Elaine!!

Hi All,
I am now posting a card for this weeks Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge we have to follow the following layout that was supplied to use here it is:

For this one I used the beautiful Ophelia stamp, I just love fairies and this one was so much fun to do. The inside of the card says: Thanks for stopping by. The background paper is not black it is really hunter green.

Here is what I used to make this card. The paper was from a Valentines Stack that I got from Michaels last year and the stamp was from well Kraftin' Kimmies! I didn't use any embellishments because I thought the the image was enough. The copics I used to make this were:

Challenge #65 - A Recipe!!!

Hi All,
Well do to the curve ball life throws at us I was unable to post my card for Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge, but I thought what the heck I will post it now. Here are the guide lines for this challenge: Recipe Challenge for ya: THREE main colours, TWO patterned papers, ONE ribbon and ONE button!! The stamp that I used for this is Puddles of Love. I just love this little cutie. I am hoping it will bring the spring on quicker, I know I am not holding my breath as it snowed again today...YUCK!
The card stock I used on this was from a school days stack and card stock I purchased at Michaels, the ribbon was from the vast collection I have accumulated over the years and the button came from my mom who gave me a bunch of new buttons. The copics I used on this piece were, for the Coat and hat: Y08,Y38, YR23 and R46. The skirt was done with V06, V08 and V17, the boots R29,R46,R59 V06 and V08. Flesh and hair: E00, R20, YR08, Y38 E15 and the background was done with B00.

Well I am back again this week I missed last week because of a sick husband. But I am back this week to take part in the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #64 Seeing Red. It being so close to Valentines day I could not resist but to do Josephine, I just love her. I used Valentine paper that I got from Michael's Craft Store some years ago and The buttons I have been collecting for awhile with a little help from my mom who had a ton. I coloured her with copics. This morning I have done yet another thank you card for my cousin to use. This one is is popcorn bear from the Thanks A Bunch set. I just love him he is so cute. This little guys is going to be entered into the following challenges:

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #61

Hi All,
Well it is time for another Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge so here are the details on this weeks challenge:
Now this week's challenge is brought to us by our newest Krafty Girl, the Amazing ANGIE!!! The challenge is called Fancy Florals and Angie wants us to use flowers on our creations.....flowers in your paper, in your image, flower embellishments, flower charms, punches or die cuts!

I figured that I would do another fairy stamp not only because I love them so much but because it is going to be part of a set that I send to my cousin who was in the hospital through Christmas and was not released till New Years and still has a very long road to recovery. She has tons of people that she wants to send thank you cards to so this will be just one of the bunch I send for her to use.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #60

Hi All,

Tonight I am finally done my card for Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge #60 Time to Unwind...
and that means NO ribbon, NO twine, NO string, trim or lace...no fibres of any kind! Eeek! That's quite a challenge for some of us, isn't it!?

This stamp of the fairy and horse is a really fun stamp to play with. I tried several different colour combos and finally this is the one I like the best.

I used copics with it and I have listed the colours that I used below. I used paper from a Christmas pack that I got from my mother. The gems were from the dollar store.
The copics I used are as follows:

Oriental Card

Good Morning everyone,

Today I am posting an oriental card that I made using stickers and rub-ons. I had these stickers for sometime now and could never figure out how to mount them up on a card so that would look different and cool. Till, that is, my friend Shirley gave me some oriental rub-ons to try. And here is the end result.
I coloured it with Copics and ran the paper through the cuttlebug. I think the hardest part of doing this card was getting the semi circle corners cut out so that they would layer up correctly.

Giraffe on Suede Board

Good Morning everyone,

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I hope that you got everything you wished for. Today I am posting something a little different from my normal. My mother back in the summer gave me a kit for colouring on suede board with prisma pencil crayons. The instant I saw it I fell in love and knew this would be a perfect Christmas gift for my sister who loves Africa and giraffes. I am not going to kid any of you it was a learning curve. Here are the end results, I was going to post a picture of it framed but the glare from the glass made it hard to see so you get the unframed version instead. I would love any input on what you think of it.

Christmas trees

Hi All,
Well I am finally back on line, my wonderful husband gave me my Christmas present early, a laptop! Now I am able to post with ease and after all the hand surgeries and recovery time I am back up and running.
Today I have a snow day because the travel into work is to dangerous because of whiteout conditions so I get to stay home and play. These are what I have been working on. The Christmas trees have been fun to do I get to play with a bunch of different trinkets to decorate the trees. Also it helps use up some of the bling that I have around my craft room. Hope you like them.

Welcoming Melissa Jenkins to the HH family!

We are so proud and excited to be welcoming Melissa Jenkins to the High Hopes family! If you are not already familiar with MelJen's Designs, you are in for a treat, as she has a very unique "girly girl" style with swirls and hearts and sweet little ladybugs accenting much of her work.

Our design team has been having loads of fun the last couple of weeks as they have been quietly preparing for the second release of Dustin Pike images, and our first release with Melissa Jenkins images. We know we can always count on Dustin for some fun, funky, fabulous images that are great for all occasions, and adding Melissa to our family was a perfect fit as we felt we needed that "girly-feminine" touch!

We know you will find both Dustin and Melissa are personally as charming as the characters they draw. We are so totally enjoying working with them and excited to see what they come up with next!,

Hard card to make...

Good morning,

I think we have all had hard cards to make, not because of what is on it or how we had to layer it up but because it was a card that took a lot of emotion, strength, love to make it. This is one of those cards... It was with a very heavy heart that I went down to my craftroom to make this card, most times I am running down those stairs full speed to be able to have a little time to make something new, not last night. I had to make a sympathy card, for a baby. A coworker of mine went off last May to have her and her boyfriend's beautiful son Owen. He was an adorable baby. When I heard the news on Monday night I could not believe it, Owen had gotten pneumonia and died Sat Jan. 30, 2010, he was only 8 months old. I had gone into work yesterday and that was all everyone that worked with her was talking about, so I suggested that I make a card so that all the people that knew her could sign it and one of her very close friends could take it to her. Above are the results of this card, the hardest card to make. I did not want to make it a typical sympathy card because it being for a baby I figured the popcorn bear was a good choice to go with. I hope I am right on this one. I didn't want to have to much on it for a couple of reasons 1) To make is to blingy would take away for the reason for the card, 2) This card is going to be signed by more then 30 people and I don't want it falling apart before it is delivered to our co-worker, our friend, I am a firm believer in the KISS rule ( keep it simple stupid ).

I used dark blue paper and dark blue textured paper, sorry don't know the company that makes it or the name. I purchased it from the Rubber Room. I coloured them with Copic Markers. On the back I finished it off by putting the back of the bear, as Phil, my husband, says it sorta finishes it off.

Wagon Ride

Good evening everyone,
Tonight I am posting Wagon ride for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge # 14 is "No Embellishments" challenge!! That means no ribbon, no brads, no charms, no bling, no nothing, only paper & stamps allowed. Well that is not a hard one for me because most times I don't know how much to add or what would be to much so I generally don't add any.
Cindy and Mindy really have come up with an adorable stamp here and I loved playing with it. I used my copic markers to colour her in and used Martha Steward punches to layer her up.

Swing It

It was my wonderful Sister-In-Law Katie's birthday yesterday and now that I have sent the card off to her I can post it on my blog. I haven't made this card in awhile and I just thought it would be a fun card to send to her because Katie has always been able to swing anything when asked.
I got the stamp and all supplies to make this card from The Rubber Room and Online store. They have the New High Hopes stamps too that were just released today that are by Dustin Pike!
I coloured the image with Copic Markers. The tree branch I had to use one of those reversible stamps so that I could line up the two together. I hope you like her!

Well today I got a chance to do some playing with a beautiful new stamp I got from Kraftin'Kimmie Stamps This Bird Fairy is one of Crissy's cuties. I fell in love with her the second I saw her. Sympathy Card

I made this card for a friend of Phil's whose father had died recently. I find it very hard to make a sympathy card for a man, all seem to be very girly because they normally are flowers that you put on them. I tried to make this one more for a man sticking to the blues and using a textured back ground paper. I used my copics and pencil crayons with OMS. Worker Ant

Hi All,

Well after a very long few months I am back. Between getting married moving and starting on a new contract I have been one very busy worker Ant. I have finally gotten better after being down for a few weeks with that nasty flu bug. Not 100% as of yet but I am getting there. But I am sure you didn't stop by to hear my tails of my busy life you stopped by to see my cards. This Worker Ant card is one of High Hopes stamp and I thought it was a cute one to do as my first card back in a while. I coloured the worker ant with copics. I made the card to be like a match book. Wedding invites

Hi all,
First off let me say I have had a very busy the past few weeks and have not been able to get on to post, or make anything. We, Phil and I, have now bought a house and have set a wedding date. Yup we move the 15 of Aug. (we get the keys on the 13th) and we get married the following weekend. Whew busy busy busy. My parents are having our wedding in their backyard. They are doing so much to try and make this a day to remember. Mom and I have now found my dress and shoes, Dad has gotten the caterer and they both have decided on a place to get cupcakes, nice touch instead of a big cake. I don't want a big wedding so it is a very small wedding with less then 40 all together. Anyways Thanks to The Rubber Room and my good friend Shirley I am posting my wedding invites. Shirley had a sample of this card done up that she had made for a family members wedding invite and I like it so much she lent me the stamp set. The Rubber Room did the wording on it and I did the rest. Hope you like it. once I have the thank you gifts done I will post them as well. Hi Everyone,

Let me first start off by saying I am sorry I haven't gotten anything posted in a long while. The reason for this is that Phil and I have been looking high and low for a house. We have gone through now 3 offers, 2 that were not accepted and 1 that fell through when we did the home inspection. As of tonight we have found the house!!! I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, after the last fell through because of home inspection we found the one that we want to call home. Both Phil and I love it, it is a beautiful house that we could have many many happy years in. As a side note I did not see this house until tonight, Phil and my father were the first to check it out this morning and called me at work saying that I had to see it tonight no time to waste. Even before I saw it I keep referring to it when we talked, it was the one that stuck out in my mind, call it a big gut feeling, anyways we went through it tonight with both my parents and we all agreed it was a beautiful house. I hope I am not jinxing it by saying all this but please keep you fingers crossed!! Tomorrow will be a very long day. Will keep everyone posted. Okay have to post this one quick, we are getting a thunderstorm here like you would not believe and I do not want the power to knock out while I am in the middle of this post.

This card is made with a stamp from The Greeting Farm. I decided I wanted to play around with Copic Markers and Prismacolour pencil crayons. This is the end result. I first coloured it with Copics, one base colour, then I went over it with my Primsacolour pencil crayons and OMS. I like the effect it gave her because is gave a softer look to the Copics while still keeping the brightness of them. I purchased all supplies used in this card at The Rubber Room and on line store.

Good Evening and Happy Monday,

Okay sorry for being so slow with the posts this week but sometimes life just happens. It seems some weeks I just have to many irons on the fire, this week was one of them.

Now on with the card...

I did this card and it is going to be a sample at The Rubber Room, if they like it that is LOL. I fell in love with this little cutie that is a stamp from motivet. The Rubber Room has a large selection of this furry little friends and I begged to do this one. Isn't she just the cutest. I coloured her with Prismacolour pencils and OMS. I used at least 3 different shades of blue, yellow and green on her and about 4 different browns, I think she turned out okay. All supplies came from The Rubber Room and online store.

This morning I am posting this card I made for The Rubber Room. This stamp is from The Greeting Farm I colour her in Copic Markers and the paper is from Pink Filigree Corner, I cut out some of the small flowers and glued them on with the edges curled up. I think this would make a very cute birthday card for a little girl.

A+ Teacher Copic Colour Challenge # 14

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I am getting ready for yet another year end of school. I thought this would be a very cute sample for a child to give to there teacher as a Thank You card at the end of school. I don't know about you but I the first think I thought of and remembered was that green paper lining the upper walls of the classroom with the alphabet on it, no naturally I had to add it to my card.
The Stamp is by The Greeting Farm, I used a pergamono pencil on the black card stock to make it look like a chalk board. The teacher I did in Copics and used Y08 Acid Yellow for the hair,and R27 Cadmuim Red. This is for the Copic Colour Challenge #14:
So this weeks challenge colours for you all are:

Can Ya Doodle???
Can Ya Doodle??? Now this can be doodling around the frame of your image, you can doodle to make your own patterned paper, it can be any extra pen work you do on your card.

But it was also a good-bye card for a very close friend and co-worker who has not left to move to the US where she is going to marry the man of her dreams. Amber was and still is, all be it now a long distance, friend. We spend many Sundays at work doing Crafts of some sort, some for work, some for fun. But I am getting off topic. As I was saying this card I made her because she is now on to her new position as a housewife. Hence the play saying on the card.
I added the "doodles" around the edges of the picture frame and coming form the flowers, for the high hopes Challenge. For the Copic Challenge instead of circles I used flowers and for the straight line I used my ribbon. I used Copic Markers to colour the girl in. The Stamps is from High Hopes newest releases.

Good Evening everyone!

So tonight I am posting a sample I did for The Rubber Room, I got the idea from Splitcoaststampers, sorry don't remember who I got the pattern from but I will try and find it out to link up. The stamps I used where from Pink Cat Studios. I coloured them with Copic Markers. I wanted to add something a little different and so I mounted the kids on the bike with a spring, this nifty little trick I leaned from Karen, or as I like to call her Jedi Master. I figured it added something to the whole card. All supplies come from The Rubber Room and their on line store.
I am not sure what else I should add to these blog entries so if you find I am missing something please let me know as I am learning the ropes so to speak.

Mothers Day Gift.

Hi All,

Let me start by saying to all Mothers, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!! I can't say this enough because I know what I was like growing up and what my poor mother had to put up with and still has to put up with.

Okay now on to what I did for my mom for her special day, well one of them anyways (lol). I made this really cute wheel barrel, that I got from Card Carousel and enlarged to 150%. The little watering bug is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and the flowers well they came from my stash that I got here there and everywhere. I coloured with Copics. All other supplies not already listed I purchased from The Rubber Room and on line store.

Copic Color Challenge 11

I am submitting my Danni Dress Up for the Copic challenge 11 the colours we had to use were Y08, BG13, E31. Since I only have Y08 I used that as my focal point by doing the dress in this color. I had to put the red for the hat, shoes and gloves but I just love the sharpness of the colour with the yellow. The purple boa, well hey don't all Red Hat ladies have a purple boa. I also used Stickles on the dress to make it look like it had glitz on it. The stamp is by High Hopes and all supplies used in this card I purchased from the Rubber Room.

Danni Dress Up

Hi all,

Tonight I finished off two cards of the same stamp one done in Prismacolor pencils with OMS and the other with Copic markers because I am going to try my hand at another challenge. Wish me luck.

This card is done as I said with prismacolor pencils and OMS. I also used stickles and Glossy accents on her pearls. I want to say a HUGE thank you to both Cathy and Karen at the Rubber Room who helped me pick out the paper to do both my cards. This and/or the my Copic card will be on display at the Rubber Room. All ready for bed

Good Evening everyone,

Well Tonight the hour is growing late and I must be up for work in the morning but I though I would show you what I worked on last night while at the Rubber Room with Cathy and Joe and Karen stopped by too. This adorable little girl was what I wanted to do, although I by looking at this card I have to really take a computer course in how to get the true colours to come out in the pictures. This little girl was done on pink and navy card stock, the flowered background paper is a pinky orange kind of colour. Anyways I am getting way off track. I did this girl in prismacolor pencils (for the flesh tones) and copic markers. On the bear I got a piece of plastic and dabbed on some dark brown to make it look like fur, this is very hard to see in the picture but it is there. I then coloured around the whole picture in a very light blue prismacolour pencil and of course it and the flesh tones I used orderless mineral spirits.

I decided on the High Hopes Ant because like all their new releases it was fun! I used Copic Markers for him and added a few flowers. Witch with Attitude

Happy Monday all... Okay maybe not. If you are like me Monday was not any great shakes. I had to work overtime yet again. Ahh well what we won't do for our jobs. So with that in mind the card I am posting tonight is one that not only had the humor factor but also it has the sentiment that we all may have shared at one time or another.

I got the set of stamps from Third Coast Stamps. I coloured the whole thing with Prismacolor pencils and Orderless Mineral Spirits. The back ground paper is from the Kindergarten Stack. I figured word paper made it look like the mirror was say a whole bunch of things to her at the time she broke it.

"Moo"d Swings

This card I did with all High Hopes Stamps. I just love the expression on the cows face. I colored it using Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, this was my first time ever veering away from using my beloved Tombows. I must say that I love using them as much as Tombows now! I had a lot of fun doing this card the inside caption read, isn't menopause udderly depressing.
My next big adventure is get some Copics to try them next.
